Serényi von Kis-Serény is a Hungarian - Austrian noble family .

history

The exact origin and descent of the family is not entirely clear. From the 14th century, members of the family fought for the Hungarian king. Over time they rose to important positions at court. After the Habsburgs became the rulers of Hungary, members entered the imperial service, such as Count Anton Amand Serényi von Kis-Serény († February 20, 1738). From the beginning of the 17th century, the family acquired several large estates in Moravia , including Vlachovice , Luhačovice , Bohuslavice nad Vláří , Lomnice u Tišnova and Křekov .

On April 7, 1656, the family was raised to the rank of count .

As one of 64 noble families, the family had a hereditary seat in the manor house , the upper house of the Austrian Imperial Council .
