Seraina Macia

Seraina Macia (formerly Seraina Maag ; * July 1968 ) is a Swiss and Australian manager and a member of the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse .

education

Macia earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Management from Deakin University in Australia in 1997 . In 1999 she graduated from Monash Mt Eliza Business School in Australia with an MBA . In 2001 she became a Chartered Financial Analyst at the CFA Institute in the USA .

Career

From 1990 to 2000 Macia worked at Swiss Re , until 1996 in various management positions in the finance and insurance business in Zurich , then until 1999 as Senior Underwriter and Deputy Head of Financial Products in Melbourne . In 2000 she was the rating agency coordinator of the Swiss Re Group.

Between 2000 and 2002 Macia was a co-founder and financial analyst of the Neue Zürcher Bank (NZB).

From 2002 to 2010, Macia held various management positions at Zurich Financial Services , including Head of the associated Investor Relations and Rating Agencies Management department , Head of Rating Agencies Management and Senior Investor Relations Officer . In 2006 and 2007 she was CFO of Zurich North America Commercial in New York . Macia was then President of the Specialties Business Unit at Zurich North America Commercial in New York until 2010 .

From 2010 to 2013 Macia was Chief Executive at XL Insurance North America .

From 2013 to 2016 Macia worked at AIG Corporation as CEO and President of AIG EMEA in London . From 2015 she was also Executive Vice-President and CEO Regional Management & Operations of the American International Group in New York . From 2016 to 2017 she was Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton USA ( Hamilton Insurance Group ). She has been Executive Vice President & CEO of Blackboard (formerly Hamilton USA ) since 2017 .

Macia has been a member of the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse Group AG and Credit Suisse AG since 2015. She was a member of the Audit Committee until 2018 and has been a member of the Risk Committee since then .

Other activities and functions

Macia is a member of the non-profit organization CFA Institute . She is a board member of the Food Bank for New York City , a nonprofit that provides food to citizens of New York City.
