Serbitz is a district of the municipality of Wiedemar in the district of Northern Saxony in the Free State of Saxony . The village is about five kilometers north of Kyhna on the border with Saxony-Anhalt . Gravel was mined directly on the outskirts of Serbitz . After the gravel quarrying , an approximately 0.15 km² quarry pond was created around which a solar system was built.

Serbitz has been mentioned by various names since the 13th century, including Zarewiz (1222), Sarewiz (1278), Serwicz (1350), Serewitz (1378), Serewicz (1404), Große Serbitz and Kleine Serwitz (1442), Serwitz beyde (1518), Serwitz (1551), Gros Serwitz (1560), from 1623 Serbitz. In 1222, Serbitz was the manor of Martinus de Zarewiz.

The place belonged to the electoral office of Delitzsch until 1815 . He came to Prussia through the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna and in 1816 was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony , to which he belonged until 1952.

On July 1, 1950, Serbitz was incorporated into Zaasch . In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Zaasch and Serbitz were assigned to the newly tailored Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 . In 1994 it was incorporated into Neukyhna . With the dissolution of the Neukyhna community, the place came to Wiedemar on January 1, 2013.
