Serge Gakpé (born May 7, 1987 in Bondy ) is a French - Togolese - Beninese football player . The midfielder is under contract with SC Amiens .

Career

society

Gakpé comes from the youth of UMS Pontault-Combault (1995 to 2001) and AS Monaco . There he played from 2001 to 2004. Before that, he had already been to the Clairefontaine youth training camp. After a good performance there, he won the attention of the AS officials. Since the 2005/06 season Gakpé has been part of the professional squad of AS Monaco. He scored his first goal in the top division of France in a 1-1 draw against RC Lens . Then Gakpé made his international debut in the UEFA Cup at the age of 18.

After increasing performance in the first half of the 2006/07 season, he signed his first professional contract, which is dated until 2011. Monaco reacted to the reaction of top European clubs who were considering acquiring the youngster.

National team

Gakpé was a French U-21 international ; he was in six games for the team and scored one goal. He has been part of the Togo national team since 2009 , for which he has played in three games to date (January 9, 2010). He made his debut on October 10, 2009 in a qualifier for the 2010 World Cup . He was substituted on for Moustapha Salifou in the 3-0 defeat against Cameroon in the 16th minute of the game . He was also part of the Togolese national team during the 2010 African Cup of Nations . In addition, Gakpé has already played for the B national team of Benin .
