Sergei Alexandrowitsch Konkow ( Russian Сергей Александрович Коньков ; born May 30, 1982 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who has spent his entire career in Russia, including 649 games in the Continental Hockey League (KHL).
Career
Sergei Konkow began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK CSKA Moscow . From 1999 to 2002 he played for its professional team in the second-rate Wysschaja Liga and rose with his team in the 2001/02 season in the Superliga . Then both professional divisions of CSKA Moscow were reunited and the attacker began the 2002/03 season for CSKA in the super league. After only two completed games, he left the team at the beginning of the season and ended the season at league rivals Molot-Prikamje Perm .
From 2003 to 2007 Konkow was under contract with Superliga participant Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . He then moved to the top club Lokomotiv Yaroslavl . For this he started from the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . In the KHL premiere season he reached the playoff final for the Gagarin Cup with Lokomotive , in which he and his team Ak Bars Kazan lost 3: 4 wins in the best-of-seven series. The former national player began the 2009/10 season in Yaroslavl, but was again on the ice for his ex-club Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the KHL from January 2010.
In May 2011 Konkow was signed for two years by OHK Dynamo , with whom he won the Gagarin Cup twice in a row. In May 2013 he moved back to Lokomotive Yaroslavl within the KHL. Further career stations were Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk and HK Sibir Novosibirsk before he was signed by Admiral Vladivostok in July 2018 . After a year in Vladivostok, the striker moved to HK Traktor Chelyabinsk for one season for the 2019/20 season . He then ended his active career at the age of 38.
International
In 2007 Konkow took part in the Euro Hockey Tour for Russia . In this he prepared five goals in nine games.
