Sergei Dmitrievich Mstislavsky , Russian Сергей Дмитриевич Мстиславский (November 2nd * . Jul / 14. November 1876 greg. In Moscow , Russian Empire ; † 22. April 1943 in Irkutsk , Soviet Union ) was a Russian-Soviet writer , anthropologist and social revolutionary .
Life
Mstislavski was born the son of a professor in Moscow. He studied at the University of St. Petersburg . There he completed his studies in natural science in 1901. During the October Revolution from November 7 to 8, 1917, he was active with the Left Social Revolutionaries . In the 1920s and 30s, he published popular books on the revolution and civil war in the Soviet Union . In the GDR “The Crow is a Spring Bird” appeared, as well as the novel “Prolog” in a translation by Gottfried J. Wojtek.
