Sergei Nikiforowitsch Kruglow

Sergei Nikiforowitsch Kruglow ( Russian Сергей Никифорович Круглов ; October 2, 1907 , † June 6, 1977 ) was a Soviet colonel general and politician . Kruglow worked as the Soviet interior minister and head of the Ministry for State Security (MGB). From 1938 he was a senior functionary of the State Security Service and served as Deputy People's Commissar of the Interior. From 1946 to 1953 he served as Minister of the Interior and after Lavrenti Beria's death until his dismissal in 1956.

Kruglow was head of the MGB of the USSR from 1953 to 1954.
