Witali Wassiljewitsch Fedortschuk ( Ukrainian Віталій Васильович Федорчук , Russian Виталий Васильевич Федорчук ; * December 27, 1918 in Ohijiwka , Moscow Government ; † February 29, 2008 in Moscow was a Soviet politician in Moscow ; † )
Career
Fedorschuk attended the military college in Kiev and had worked for the Soviet secret service SMERSH since 1939 . He became chairman of the KGB of Ukraine in 1970. Fedorschuk was KGB chief from May 26, 1982 to December 17, 1982 and Minister of the Interior of the Soviet Union from 1982 to 1986 . He died in Moscow in 2008 after a long illness and was buried in the Trojekurovo cemetery.
