Sergei Vladimirovich Bolshakov

Sergei Wladimirowitsch Bolshakow ( Russian Сергей Владимирович Большаков ; born June 6, 1988 in Ischewsk , Soviet Union ) is a Russian swimmer who specializes in long distances in open water .

Bolshakov won a bronze medal at the 2011 Swimming World Championships in the East China Sea off Shanghai over 10 kilometers in 1: 54: 31.8 hours behind the Greek Spyros Gianniotis (1: 54: 24.7) and the German Thomas Lurz (1:54:27 , 2). He was also a bronze medalist at the 2010 European Swimming Championships in the first team race. In 2011 he was two-time Russian champion. Thanks to the bronze medal at the World Cup, Bolshakov received the right to participate in the 2012 Olympic Games in London .
