Sergio Ceballos Aldape (born February 15, 1951 ) is a former Mexican football player who mainly played in the attacking midfield and won the Mexican football championship with both Club America (1971) and UANL Tigres (1978) .

career

Ceballos spent his first professional years at Club América , with whom he won the second professional football championship in the club's history in the 1970/71 season . During his time with the Americanistas , Ceballos also succeeded in making the jump to the Mexican national team , for which he was first used on August 6, 1972 in a friendly against Costa Rica (0-1). His fourth and last international match he had on September 10, 1972 in a World Cup qualifier against the United States, which was won 2-1 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum . It was his only international appearance over the full distance of 90 minutes and in the eleventh minute he equalized the hosts' early lead with his only international goal. Shortly before changing clubs, he won the Copa México with the Americanistas in the 1973/74 season .

After Ceballos left Club America in 1974, he only had one to two-year club stints. For example, in the 1976/77 season at América's arch-rival Chivas Guadalajara , where he was hardly used. He had more missions at his next station UANL Tigres , with which he was Mexican champion for the second time in the 1977/78 season. But he was a regular regular player only at his next station Atlético Potosino , for which he completed 61 missions and scored 13 goals. After another station at Atletas Campesinos , he ended his active career in ranks of Tampico-Madero FC .
