Serpentine Dominion is an American death metal band.

history

The origins of the band go back to 2009, when guitarist and band founder Adam Dutkiewicz with his main band Killswitch Engage as part of the Mayhem Festival tour also with singer George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher ( Cannibal Corpse ) and drummer Shannon Lucas (then The Black Dahlia Murder ) was on the way. When Dutkiewicz saw the two of them "evening after evening, the idea of starting a joint project matured in [him]". He explicitly wanted to write an album that is geared towards the singer George Fisher. As a ghostwriter , Jesse Leach , singer from Killswitch Engage, wrote the lyrics for the debut album, which was released at the end of October 2016.

style

In Dutkiewicz's self-description, the band combines “aggressive death metal riffs with melodic, more classic European metal”. In the review of Metal1, the self-titled debut was described as “technically demanding, but by no means cerebral Death Metal” and “musical bloodlust”. In the review of Metal Hammer , the clear vocals interspersed in the background by Dutkiewicz were emphasized, which give the album “another, very entertaining facet”.
