The rust-crowned wood warbler ( Setophaga discolor , Syn . : Dendroica discolor ) is a small bird from the genus of the wood warbler ( Setophaga ) in the family of the wood warbler (Parulidae).

Above the plumage is olive green with black stripes on the flanks and with V-shaped or semicircular black stripes below the eyes and through the eyes. The tail feathers are blackish and the underside plumage yellow. Rust-crowned warbler breed in the east of North America and fly to Florida and Central America in winter . They inhabit mangroves , open wooded areas and gardens. As a brood parasite, the brown-headed cowbird ( Molothrus ater ) lays its eggs in the nest of the rust-crowned wood warbler.
