Seven Witches is an American power metal band from New Jersey .

Band history

Guitarist Jack Frost formed the band together with Bobby Lucas (vocals), Billy Mez (bass) and John Osborn (drums) Seven Witches. After a demo CD in 1998, the group was able to sign a contract with Massacre Records . The album Second War in Heaven was released in 1999. The successor City of Lost Souls with the new drummer Brian Vincent was released the following year . Jack Frost produced all other releases of the group from this album on.

The 2002 album Xiled to Infinity and One was created with the participation of new singer Wade Black and drummer Brian Craig. Shortly before the recordings for the next CD, which was made with singer James Rivera and bassist Joey Vera again with the participation of new members, Frost's brother died of cancer . Frost dedicated the theme song Passage to the Other Side to him . Year of the Witch followed in 2004 with bassist Dennis Hayes.

On the 2005 album Amped , the line-up was completely changed again with Alan Teechio (vocals), Kevin Bolembach (bass) and Jeff Curenton (drums). A live DVD titled Years of the Witch was released in 2006. James Rivera returned to the band in 2008, but left again three years later. The last album to date, The Way of the Wicked , was released in 2015.

Music genre

The music style of Seven Witches is mainly based on US power metal / speed metal bands such as Helstar or Metal Church . Her style is sometimes compared to Judas Priest . The style rarely varies, so the album Passage to the Other Side is a bit darker due to the tragic death of Frost's brother, while other albums are heavier. In principle, Seven Witches is a solo project by the extremely active guitarist Jack Frost, who also plays or played in bands such as Metalium , Savatage and The Bronx Casket Co. This also explains the many top-class guest musicians.
