Seychelles Creole (sometimes referred to as Seselwa [ seseˈlwa ]) is the French- based Creole language of the Seychelles and is spoken by around 70,000 people. Seychelles Creole is the official language of the Seychelles, along with English and French.

Seychelles Creole is recorded with its own orthography , which is purely phonetic and differs greatly from the rules of French orthography. In addition to general Creole features such as the loss of conjugation endings , gender and number , pronunciation is also simplified insofar as the rounded vowels coincide with the unrounded ones ; So ö becomes e, ü becomes i, and voiced and unvoiced sh coincide with voiced and unvoiced s.
