The Seyrantepe Dam ( Turkish Seyrantepe Barajı ) is located 15 km northwest of Karakoçan on the border of the two Turkish provinces of Elazığ and Tunceli on the Peri Çayı River .
The Seyrantepe Dam was completed in 2008. The barrier structure is a sand-gravel embankment with a clay core . The dam was built for the purpose of generating energy . The dam is 31 m high and has a volume of 1.22 million m³. The dam has a storage volume of 23.35 million m³. The hydropower plant of the Seyrantepe dam has 2 Francis turbines of 25.7 megawatts . The standard work capacity is 161 GWh per year. Upstream is the Özlüce dam .
