Shōhei Ikeda ( Japanese 池田 昇平 , Ikeda Shōhei ; born April 27, 1981 in Shizuoka , Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

career

Ikeda started playing football at Shimizu FC while in elementary school, has played in the youth teams of the first division club Shimizu S-Pulse since high school and was signed by this club after graduating from school in 2000. In 2005 he moved to Sanfrecce Hiroshima , in 2006 to the second division club Vegalta Sendai and in 2007 to the first division club JEF United Ichihara Chiba , with whom he was relegated to the second division in 2010. He then went to Ehime FC and ended his career with FC Gifu in 2012 .

With the Japanese national team , he qualified for the 2001 World Youth Championship .
