Princess Schahnaz Pahlavi (1967)

Princess Schahnaz Pahlavi , ( Persian شهناز پهلوی, Born October 27, 1940 in Tehran , Iran ) is the only child of the last Persian Shah , Mohammad Reza Pahlavi , with his first wife, Fausia of Egypt .

Since a female succession to the throne was not provided for in the Iranian constitution, but Fausia had no further children, this led to the official divorce of her parents in 1948 (Fausia left the Shah in 1945 and returned to Egypt). The Shah then married Soraya Esfandiary Bakhtiary , but this marriage remained childless, so that the Shah married Farah Diba after another divorce in 1958 .

Schahnaz Pahlavi was married to Ardeschir Zahedi , who was once Iranian Foreign Minister and twice Iranian Ambassador to the United States of America (1957–1964 and 1972–1979). The couple has a daughter, Princess Zahra Mahnaz also Schahanez (December 2, 1958).

In February 1971, Schahnaz Khosrow married Jahanbani . They have a son, Kai Chosrau (1971), and a daughter named Fausieh (1973). Like all family members of the Pahlavi, Schahnaz emigrated in 1979 during the Islamic Revolution . Since then she has lived in Switzerland .

She is the half-sister of Cyrus Reza Pahlavi , Farahnaz Pahlavi, the late Ali Reza Pahlavi and the late Leila Pahlavi.
