Shai Hoffmann (born February 22, 1982 in Berlin ) is a former German actor , musician , entrepreneur (social entrepreneur) and activist.

Life

Shai Hoffmann, who has Israeli roots, grew up in Berlin and completed an apprenticeship as a hotel manager after completing secondary school . He also took private acting and speaking lessons and completed some acting coaching.

Hoffmann took part in some talent competitions in his youth. Various live appearances as a solo singer followed. In 2004 he was a participant in the second season of the SAT.1 casting show Star Search , where he was eliminated in the quarterfinals. Hoffmann also appeared as lead singer with the band Greensession (forerunner of Radiopilot ) and founded the band Shai and the Shaikers and later the Business Beats .

In 2006/2007 Shai Hoffmann had a leading role in the internet and mobile phone novela Ninas Welt , which was nominated for the Global Mobile Award 2007. He was also the actor in several soap roles, including in Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten , 2 Be and Verliebt in Berlin (role: Alexander Greifenhagen). From January to August 2008 he was seen in the ARD series Verbotene Liebe in the role of Fabian Brandner. In January 2009 he returned to the series for a guest appearance.

Shai Hoffmann received a kidney transplant in April 2007 that his father donated. Since then, the son has been increasingly committed to organ donation together with Junge Helden eV .

From late 2008 until April 2013. studied Shai Hoffmann Business Administration at the University of Economics and Law in Berlin . At the end of 2009 he founded the university band Business Beats together with two fellow students . At the same time, Alexander Arnold and Shai Hoffmann founded the production company Business Beats Production , where they work on their own compositions in the pop , R'n'B and soul genre. In addition to studying, Shai Hoffmann moderated the morning show on 93.6 Jam FM Berlin from March 2009 to June 2010 .

Since August 2013, Shai Hoffmann has been working on the Karma Chakhs project, a fair trade campaign that he runs on the social network Facebook .

From October 2013 to April 2014 he completed the additional course “ Design Thinking ” in the “School of Design Thinking” at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam .

In December 2013, Shai Hoffmann founded the marketing agency shai hoffmann , which focuses on advising on crowdfunding / crowdinvesting campaigns. In addition to project management, other services provided by the agency also include the marketing concept and the strategic development of companies' online presences (" social media marketing ").

Hoffmann is involved in various civil society projects. He is u. a. Initiator of the “Bus of Encounters”, “Integration Bus” and “Democracy Bus” campaigns and the “TinyHouse Basic Law ” project.

Since February 2019 he has been moderating the inspiration podcast “On a Cay with Shai”, where he invites personalities to talk to them about their visions for the future.
