Emergence
In contrast to the debut album Flash Point , every member of the Shake Electric band participated in the songwriting. A new song was written over a period of one year, while the theme song was written in 20 minutes. According to singer Ann-Sofie Hoyles, most of the songs were already composed before the studio appointment. Although she is the singer, she wrote lyrics for an album for the first time. The majority, however, comes from guitarist John Hoyles and drummer Ricard Harryson.
The album was recorded in the Kungstens Recording Studio in Gothenburg . The studio was recommended to the band by their drummer Ricard Harryson, who previously recorded here with another band. Produced, mixed and mastered was shake Electric Mattias Glava, who received similarly the whole album. Music and singing were recorded live. According to guitarist John Hoyles, the album title describes the band's music. He was inspired by a poem by Walt Whitman . Before the album was released, the song Mad Dog was released as a single . For the songs Shake Electric and Control were music videos rotated.

According to Raphael Päbst from the online magazine Powermetal.de , the band knows “how to write crisp songs and then capture them on record”. Each song would be "short and played to the point". Since one is “looking for failures”, Päbst rated the album with 7.5 out of ten points. According to Peter Hollecker from the online magazine My Revelations , the music on Shake Electric sounds “riff-heavy, hard and extremely authentic”. However, he criticized the fact that the album's playing time of just over half an hour was "annoyingly very short". Hollecker awarded nine out of 15 points.
Shake Electric debuted at number seven on the Swedish album charts . The album was nominated for the Swedish Grammis music award in the hard rock category. However, the award went to the band At the Gates .
