Shake Me is the title of a song by the US blues rock band Cinderella and comes from their debut album Night Songs , whose second single it was released. It was first released in 1984, two years before the band got a recording deal .

Cinderella had recorded two demos in 1984 and 1985 and thus caught the attention of Jon Bon Jovi , who got them a recording contract with the help of Derek Shulman ( A&R manager at Mercury Records ). The band's original drummer, Jim Drnc, was replaced by Jody Cortez while recording, with Andy Johns producing the debut album. Singer and guitarist Tom Keifer wrote all the songs on the record.

Shake Me was originally released by the band in 1984 as Shake Me! in Selbstverlag added and as vinyl single was released. The band had re-recorded the title for the album Night Songs and later released it as the follow-up single to Nobody's Fool . The song was released in the United States, South Africa and Europe as a seven-inch single. In addition, a promo single in maxi -single format (12 inches) was released in the USA, and the maxi-single was also offered for sale in Great Britain .

The single contained the song Night Songs as the B-side , the maxi single additionally the song Hell on Wheels.

Cover versions

The US-American band Ridel High released a cover version of the song for the compilation album Mëtal Rüles - A Tribute to the Bad Hair Days in 1998
