Private life

His father Vince McMahon directs the economically most important American wrestling promotion, in which Shane was also active in a leading position. His mother, Linda McMahon, was WWE's chief executive officer until 2009 before moving on to her political career. His younger sister Stephanie married the wrestler Triple H , who was also under contract with the league . Shane McMahon herself has been married to TV presenter and producer Marissa Mazzola-McMahon since 1996 and has three sons with her.

Wrestling career

World Wrestling Federation / Entertainment (1989–2009, since 2016)

After working behind the scenes, Shane McMahon appeared for the first time under the pseudonym Shane Stevens as a referee in the television shows of the WWE, including as referee the main match of the Royal Rumble 1991. From 1998 he was active as a wrestler himself, he also had other roles as manager, commentator and ring announcer. In 1999 he received the WWF European Championship for 126 days and the WWE Hardcore Championship for 6 days in 2000 . The storylines Shane McMahon took part in often revolved around control of the family business. For example, it was he who (according to the storyline ) bought the competing WCW in 2001 and, in the following invasion storyline, united with the ECW, which had also been bought up, to form the Alliance and, together with his sister Stephanie, led it against the WWF in order to end it take over. At the Survivor Series 2001 this storyline ended when Shane's Team Alliance lost in an elimination match against Team WWF .

In his matches, he often made a name for himself with daring stunts such as falling from a great height or thrown through glass panes.

McMahon, who as the son of the company boss also performed management tasks for WWE, left the family company in 2010 and devoted himself to his own projects. In 2016, he returned to the WWE, again as his father's feud, and played a Hell in a Cell match against Undertaker at Pay-Per-View Wrestlemania 32 in front of over 100,000 spectators at the AT&T Stadium and performed a risky fall from the roof of the cage a commentary desk.

The night after Wrestlemania 32, Vince McMahon gave him control of Monday Night Raw, even though he lost to Undertaker and a pre-determined clause in the event of defeat actually said the opposite.

At WWE Payback on May 1, 2016, Vince McMahon split control of Monday Night RAW to Shane McMahon and his sister Stephanie McMahon. In the RAW episode of July 11, 2016, as part of the renewed separation of the two main WWE shows ("Brand Extension") into separate squads, Vince McMahon made him ( Gimmick ) Commissioner of SmackDown! Appointed LIVE . Since then he has been running the " Blue Brand " together with Daniel Bryan , whom he appointed as its general manager . After Daniel Bryan "revived" his career in 2018 shortly after WrestleMania 34 after a long injury break, the role of General Manager was taken over by Paige (who had to end her career the day before due to an injury).

On January 27, 2019, he and The Miz became Tag Team Champion against The Bar (Cesaro / Shamus) at the Royal Rumble . 21 days later at the PPV Elimination Chamber they lost the title to the Usos. After a lost rematch at the PPV Fastlane, McMahon attacked The Miz . This was followed by a feud that resulted in a match at WrestleMania 35, which Shane McMahon happily won. After The Miz switched to Raw , the feud continued by attacking McMahon. So there was a steel cage match at Money in the Bank , which McMahon won. On June 7, 2019, McMahon played a singles match against Roman Reigns on WWE Super ShowDown, which he won. On July 14, 2019, he played a No Holds Barred Tag Team Match with Drew McIntyre against The Undertaker & Roman Reigns, which they lost. On August 11, 2019, he lost a singles match against Kevin Owens at WWE SummerSlam . On October 4, 2019, McMahon lost a ladder match against Kevin Owens at WWE Friday Night SmackDown , after which McMahon had to leave the WWE according to the storyline.
