The Shannon River is a river in the center of the Australian state of Tasmania .
geography
River course
The river arises in the Great Lake in the Central Plateau Conservation Area . From there it flows first to the south-southeast through the Shannon Lagoon , then along the Lake Highway (A5) and turns south of the Synnots Sugarloaf to the south-west. In the Ouse Forest Reserve flows into the Ouse River .
