history
Sharon Springs was founded in 1868 as the Eagle Tail Station. In 1886 the city got its current name Sharon Springs after a village of the same name in New York . In 1890, Sharon Springs was recognized as a city.
In 2013, the largest crater in Kansas opened to the north of Sharon Springs.
