Shaun Evans (born March 6, 1980 in Liverpool , Merseyside , England ) is a British actor and television director . In Germany he is best known for the personification of Inspector Morse in the series Der Junge Inspektor Morse .

Life

Shaun Evans was born in Liverpool to Northern Irish parents. The father was a taxi driver, the mother worked in health care. He attended St. Edward's Catholic College, a former grammar school in West Derby in the greater Liverpool area. A scholarship made it possible for him to attend the school, which places special emphasis on the music education of the students. After taking a course at the National Youth Theater, he moved to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London at the age of 18 .

In Great Britain he is best known for his roles in a number of television series such as Teachers (2002), Elizabeth I - The Virgin Queen (2006), Ashes to Ashes - Back to the 80s , The Take - Two decades in the Mafia ( both 2009), The Last Weekend , Whitechapel or Silk - robes made of silk (all three in 2012). He is also involved as a producer on the series The Young Inspector Morse with Evans as the protagonist, which has been broadcast since 2012.

In the role of Inspector Morse, he is dubbed by Till Endemann .

In 2017/18 he directed three episodes of the television series Casuality .

Prizes and awards

In 2014 he was nominated for the British Crime Thriller Award for Best Actor ( The Best Actor Dagger for Endeavor ).
