Shawn Baltazor

Shawn Baltazor (* around 1985) is an American jazz musician (drums, percussion, composition).

Baltazor comes from California and was already performing with various bands at the age of ten, ranging from rock and roll to New Orleans jazz . After moving to the east coast of the USA, he attended William Paterson University . During this time he played with Clark Terry , Slide Hampton , Wynton Marsalis , Joe Lovano and Kenny Garrett . From the end of the 2000s, Baltazor worked with Carl Maguire and Brett Sroka in the formation Ergo (album Multitude, Solitude , Cuneiform), in the following decade also with Roxy Cross and the Nathan Eklund Group. In 2014 he presented his debut album Lionsong with his own compositions, on which Seamus Blake , Ben Monder , Sam Harris and Ben Street participated. He also wrote music for the New York Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, Eric Reed , Kermit Driscoll and Darcy James Argue .
