She and the Junkies is a four-piece Austrian rock band. The band describes their style of music as "Junk Rock."
Band history
The band was formed in 2006. In 2014 She and the Junkies toured with their “European Junk Tour 2014” through Austria, Germany, Holland, England and Scotland and was nominated by the Viennese broadcaster GoTV for the award “Best Austrian Band” in the same year. In 2015 the self-named debut album was released on the Panta R&E label and the band toured England again afterwards. The band has also performed in Italy and Switzerland.
On the occasion of a joint live performance with the Viennese action artist donhofer. the Warsaw kneeling with the title "War Saw" in December 2015 was followed by the associated single Departure in April of the following year. In Austria they could be seen at the Donauinselfest in 2016 and in July 2017 at the Kunstmue Festival in Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt .
