Visual and performative elements play a role in donhofer's art. an important role, and the involvement of the audience is also important to him. He often uses the Edding style for his Pop Art works , but also works with acrylic , cardboard and tarpaulins. Thematically, his art often refers to social grievances of the 21st century, which revolve around the topics of power, decadence, money and the media. He became known to a broader public in 2012 through his three-day “Supergau” action art in the reactor room of the never-in-service nuclear power plant in Zwentendorf / Lower Austria and through the “olympia gold” exhibition in the Karlsplatz art gallery in Vienna that same year .
