Sheffield Shield 2006/07

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sheffield Shield 2006/07 , also Pura Cup 2006/2007 for sponsorship reasons , was the 114th season of the national first-class cricket competition in Australia . The winner was Tasmania , which won their first Sheffield Shield.

format

The teams played two games in each division against each other. A team received 6 points for a win and 3 points for a draw (both teams achieve the same number of runs). If no result is achieved and the game ends in a draw, the results after the first innings count . There are two points for a win and one point for a tie and none for a loss. If the game is lost after the second innings, although the first innings has been won, two points are awarded. Furthermore, it is possible that teams are deducted points if, for example, they play too slowly or the pitch is not properly prepared. In the event of a tie, the placement will first be based on the number of wins and then on the quotient of the runs, the pro wickets are required and which you achieve per wicket yourself. At the end of the season, the two group winners play the winner of the Sheffield Shield in the final.
