Sheila Och
Sheila Och (born March 12, 1940 in Redhill , Great Britain ; † August 22, 1999 in Germany; also Sheila Ochová ) was a children's book author .
Sheila Och first lived in England as the daughter of Czech emigrants. After the end of the Second World War , she returned with her family to Prague, where she studied at the film academy after finishing school - with Milan Kundera , among others . From 1971 Sheila Och lived in Germany and worked in the library of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Bonn . Here she was in charge of the Eastern Europe section and participated in various bibliographical projects. In the 1990s she became known for her children's books. In addition to other awards, she received the German Youth Literature Prize in 1997 for her book Karel, Jarda and True Life .
