The Shelburne River is a 53 km long river in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia .
It is still a natural body of water in the south of Nova Scotia. It has its origin at Buckshot Lake . From there it flows in an easterly direction to Lake Rossignol , which is traversed by the Mersey River . On the lower reaches of the river is the Shelburne River Wilderness Area . The Shelburne River has been a Canadian Heritage River since 1997 .
