The Mersey River is a river in the southeast of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia .

It rises from Lake Kejimkujik in Kejimkujik National Park and flows through Lake Rossignol to finally flow into the Atlantic Ocean near the city of Liverpool . Its tributaries are the Shelburne River (empties into Lake Rossignol), West River, and the Little River.

The river was an important transport route for the native people of Nova Scotia, the Mi'kmaq Indians. Later, during the colonization by the English, it was used as a transport route for tree trunks from the interior of the country. Nowadays you can find some smaller hydroelectric plants along the river.
