Thomas Bhalerao

Thomas Bhalerao SJ (born February 1, 1933 in Sangamner , Maharashtra , India ; † February 13, 2015 in Shrirampur, Ahmednagar ) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Nashik .

Life

Thomas Bhalerao joined the Congregation of the Jesuits in, put the profession on June 20, 1953, and received on 27 March 1965, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Nashik on May 15, 1987 . The Archbishop of Bombay , Simon Ignatius Pimenta , donated him episcopal ordination on August 23, 1987 ; Co- consecrators were Valerian D'Souza , Bishop of Poona , and Charles Gomes SJ, Bishop of Ahmedabad .

His resignation for health reasons gave Pope Benedict XVI. on March 31, 2007.
