Charles Gomes
Charles Gomes SJ (born September 5, 1910 in Karachi , British India (today: Pakistan ), † September 15, 2002 ) was Bishop of Ahmedabad .
Life
Charles Gomes joined the Congregation of the Jesuits in and received on 21 November 1936, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On July 1, 1974, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the bishop of Ahmedabad. The Archbishop of Bhopal , Eugene Louis D'Souza MSFS , donated him episcopal ordination on October 6 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Poona , William Zephyrine Gomes , and the Bishop of Baroda , Ignatius Salvador D'Souza .
On May 21, 1990, Pope John Paul II accepted Charles Gomes' resignation due to reasons of age.
