Edwin Pinto
Edwin Pinto SJ (born January 24, 1901 in Karachi , British India (today: Pakistan ), † June 7, 1978 ) was Bishop of Ahmedabad .
Life
Edwin Pinto joined the Congregation of the Jesuits in and received on 9 September 1932, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On May 5, 1949, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the bishop of Ahmedabad. The Archbishop of Saragossa , Rigoberto Domenech y Valls , donated him episcopal ordination on October 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Sigüenza-Guadalajara , Lorenzo Bereciartúa y Balerdi , and the Bishop of Pamplona , Enrique Delgado y Gómez .
On August 4, 1973 Edwin Pinto resigned as Bishop of Ahmedabad.
He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.
