Sheng Huaren

Sheng Huaren ( Chinese  盛华仁 ; * 1935 in Yancheng , Jiangsu ) is a Chinese politician of the Communist Party of China (CCP), who between 1990 and 1998 was general director of today's state oil company Sinopec and from 1998 to 2001 chairman of the state commission for economics and Commerce was ministerial. Between 2003 and 2008 he also served as Vice-Chairman and General Secretary of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress .

Life

Sheng Huaren, a Han Chinese national , joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as a member in 1954 . He worked for some time in various chemical companies and was among other things secretary of the party committee of the chemical company in Nanjing and a member of the executive committee of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification. From 1965 to 1970 he served as deputy director of the Society for the Chemical Fertilizer Industry, which is part of the Ministry of Chemical Industry, and then became deputy head of the long-term planning group of the Ministry of Petroleum and Chemical Industry.

After some time as deputy director and finally director of the planning department of the Ministry of Chemical Industry, Sheng became deputy and finally deputy managing director general of today's state-owned oil company Sinopec in 1983 . At the same time, he was deputy secretary of the Chinese Communist Party of China ( CCP) group, before he succeeded Chen Jinhua as general manager of Sinopec and secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) group. He stayed in this post until March 1998, when he was replaced by Li Yizhong . He was also Vice President of the Sino-South Korean Business Association.

In 1992 Sheng became a member of the National People's Congress and at the XV. Congress of the Communist Party of China in 1997 elected a member of the Central Committee (ZK), of which he was a member until 2002. In March 1998, he succeeded Wang Zhongyu as chairman of the State Commission for Economy and Trade in the State Council of the People's Republic of China and held this position until he was replaced by Li Rongrong in February 2001. At the same time, he became a member of the State Steering Group for Science in 1998 and technology. After he was a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress from 1998 to 2003 , he became Vice-Chairman and General Secretary of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in March 2003. He held this position until March 2008, when Li Jianguo succeeded him.
