Shera Bechard Lorraine Marie (* 14. September 1983 in Kapuskasing , Ontario ) is a Canadian model , which for Playboy - Playmate was elected in November of 2010. She also appears sporadically as an actress .

Life

Bechard grew up in Kapuskasing. At the age of 18, Bechard moved to Toronto to pursue a modeling career.

In her years as a model, she worked with Marcus Klinko , George Whiteside , Ian Cuttler and the rock - singer and occasional photographer Bryan Adams . She also worked with director Andrew Thomas Hunt , who cast her in the 2009 film Sweet Karma as Karma .

In 2011 she was the partner of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner .

The daily newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported in April 2018 that Bechard an affair with the Republican fundraiser Elliott Broidy had. After becoming pregnant by Broidy in late 2017, Bechard had an abortion performed. Her attorney Keith Davidson negotiated the payment of 1.6 million US dollars as hush money through Michael Cohen , then attorney for US President Donald Trump . On July 6, 2018, Bechard filed a lawsuit in California against Broidy, Davidson, and Michael Avenatti because Broidy suspended payments of the remaining amount of hush money.
