The Sherlock Holmes Museum is a privately owned museum in London . The museum is located on Baker Street near Regent's Park in the Marylebone neighborhood of the City of Westminster (NW1). It opened on March 27, 1990.

The fictional characters Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson lived in this house after Arthur Conan Doyle from around 1881 to 1904. House number 221b, given as Sherlock Holmes' place of residence, is pure fiction , because at that time the houses were only numbered up to plot 100.

On the first floor there is a replica of the famous study, which they shared for almost 25 years, based on the details of the detective stories. Sherlock Holmes' bedroom is said to have been next to it; Dr. Watson's bedroom is said to have been across the back yard, on the second floor of the house next to Mrs. Hudson's. Both rooms are used as exhibition rooms.

On the third floor, scenes from various Sherlock Holmes novels are recreated. There you can find a doll by Professor Moriarty or a diorama about the Baskerville dog .

On the ground floor there is next to the entrance door to the guest house , where a bobby welcomes guests in proper style, as well as a shop where you can find souvenirs related to Sherlock Holmes and London.

The museum is open every day.
