Sheva Tehoval

Sheva Tehoval (born March 1991 in Brussels ) is a Belgian opera , concert and lied singer with a soprano voice .

Life

Training and initial engagements

At the age of six, Sheva Tehoval joined the children's choir of the Brussels Opera House La Monnaie and participated in several opera productions in this context. At the age of 14 she began her vocal training in the class of Eunice Arias in Brussels. After graduating from high school, she studied at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne with Christoph Prégardien and completed her Bachelor of Music with distinction in 2015 . In the following year, she received her Masters with the distinction “first class honor” with Mary Nelson at the Royal Academy of Music in London .

Even during her studies, Sheva Tehoval performed internationally as a soloist with orchestra, in a lied duo with piano, in a vocal ensemble and in an ensemble for new music. She received a scholarship from the Live Music Now Foundation (2013) and the German Music Competition (2016). In December 2016, she sang the voice of the title figure portrayed by a dancer in Rimski-Korsakow's opera Der Goldene Hahn at the La Monnaie Opera House in Brussels . She sang the soprano role of Klara in Beethoven's incidental music for Egmont in September 2017 in La Seine musicale at Boulogne-Billancourt.

  • 1st prize in the opera category, 1st prize in the "Mélodie française" category, "Prix jeune espoir" and audience award at the international competition in Marmande (2014)
  • Emmerich Smola Prize of the City of Landau (2017)
  • Kissinger Summer Luitpold Prize (2018)
