The Shigar River ( Urdu دریائے شگر) is located in the special territory of Gilgit-Baltistan in northern Pakistan .

It arises from the confluence of the Basha (right) and Braldu (left). The Basha rises from the Chogolungma glacier in the northwest, the Braldu comes from the east and carries the meltwater from the Baltoro , Biafo and Panmah glaciers . The Shigar with a length of 62 kilometers flows into the Indus at Skardu .

There is another river called the Shigar (South) River , which flows into the Indus at Marol below Skardu.
