Shin'ya Kawashima ( Japanese 川島 眞 也 , Kawashima Shin'ya ; born July 22, 1978 in Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Kawashima learned to play soccer on the school team at Shimizu Commercial High School . He signed his first contract in 1997 with the Sanfrecce Hiroshima . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 1999 he reached the final of the Kaiser Cup . For the club he completed 34 first division games. In July 2001 he was loaned to the league rivals Urawa Reds . In 2002 he returned to Sanfrecce Hiroshima. In September 2002 he moved to the second division Avispa Fukuoka . In 2005 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League. At the end of the 2006 season, the club rose again from the J2 League. For the club he completed 128 games. In 2008 he moved to league rivals FC Gifu . For the club he completed 77 games. At the end of 2012 he ended his career as a football player.
