Shin'ichi Tsutsumi

Shin'ichi Tsutsumi ( Japanese 堤 真 一 , Tsutsumi Shin'ichi ; born July 7, 1964 in Nishinomiya , Hyōgo Prefecture ) is a Japanese actor . He is managed by the talent agency Siscompany .

Tsutsumi was initially mainly as a theater actor, but also played in television series and in smaller roles in movies. From the mid-1990s, he played leading roles in films by Hiroyuki Tanaka , including Unlucky Monkey (1998) and Monday (2000). The final breakthrough came with the role of an academic taking over his late father's small fishing business in the television series Yamato Nadeshiko in 2000. Numerous leading roles in film and television followed.

For his portrayal in Always san-chōme no yūhi (2005) he won the Japanese Academy Award , the Hochi Film Prize and the Kinema Jumpō Prize . He also received the Blue Ribbon Award for Fly Daddy Fly (2005) .
