Shirley Hampton

Shirley Hampton (married Pirie; born September 5, 1935 ) is a former British sprinter .

In 1954 she won bronze over 220 yards at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver and silver with the English 4-by-110-yard relay silver; over 100 yards she was eliminated in advance. At the European Athletics Championships in Bern , she won silver in the 200 m and came fourth in the 4 x 100 m relay with the British quartet.

At the EM in 1958 in Stockholm she was fourth over 400 m .

In 1958 she became English champion over 440 yards.
