Shirley Mason
Shirley Mason (born June 6, 1900 in Brooklyn , New York , † July 27, 1979 in Los Angeles , California , born Leonie Flugrath ) was an American silent film actress .
Life
She was the youngest of three sisters, her older sisters Edna Flugrath and Virginia Flugrath (under the name Viola Dana ) also worked as actresses. Mason made his debut in At the threshold of life in 1911 at the age of 11 . Her second film was 1915 Vanity Fair by Charles Brabin . In 1917 she had her first title role in The awakening of Ruth by Edward H. Griffith .
Shirley Mason was married twice, first to Bernard J. Durning until his death in 1923, then from 1927 to 1972 with the director Sidney Lanfield .
In 1979 Shirley Mason died of cancer. Her grave is found in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
