Jingdian shiwen
Jingdian shiwen ( Chinese 經典釋文 / 经典释文 , Pinyin Jīngdiăn shìwén , W.-G. Ching-tien shih-wen - "Explanation of the classics / classics with explanations and comments"), in Chinese philology often under the abbreviation Shiwen (释 文), is a dictionary compiled by the Chinese classical scholar and philologist Lu Deming (陸德明; 556 - 627 ) in the time of the Tang Dynasty , “ to determine the pronunciation of the periods since the Han period from more than 230 commentaries on the classics tried".

It contains valuable fanqie notes on the pronunciation of the characters in the texts of classical Chinese literature , mainly Confucian texts but also Daoist ( Laozi and Zhuangzi ). In the work, some older works are cited that are only known today through these quotations.
It was considered by the Swedish sinologist Bernhard Karlgren , together with the rhyming dictionary Qieyun (aus) from 601, as the two main sources for the reconstruction of Central Chinese .
