Shortcut Island (from English shortcut 'abbreviation' ) is a 600 m long and crescent-shaped island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 1.1 km southeast of Gamage Point and Palmer Station off the southwest coast of Anvers Island . Its north bank is characterized by three distinctive bays .
The island got its name after the narrow channel separating it from Anvers Island , which is a shortcut from Palmer Station to the Biscoe Bay area.
