Sibylle Trost

Sibylle Trost (* 1961 in Mainz ) is a German journalist and filmmaker . She is a freelance writer in Berlin a. a. of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit . For the ZDF documentary series 37 Grad she made 24 films as an author and documentary film director .

Life

Sibylle Trost was born in Mainz. After studying political science , journalism , Romance and art history , she began as a freelance journalist in the editorial updates and in the newsroom TV movie of Radio Free Berlin . During the months of the fall of the Berlin Wall, she reported from Berlin and Brandenburg, also for the Deutschlandsender Kultur . In 1993 she realized the 30-minute report Biosphere 2 in Oracle, Arizona, on behalf of Deutsche Welle TV . From 1995 to 2012 she was responsible for the script and direction for the ZDF documentary format 37 Grad with a total of 24 reports and documentaries. Her 37-degree report "My wife pays" (2010) was shown in excerpts in the family breadwinners campaign of the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and the DGB . The ZDF mentioned Trost as a writer and documentary director with most of the films in the 37 Grad series on the official website for the 20th anniversary in October 2014. In 2014, she wrote the cover story "Horror Games - How Toys Stupid Our Children " in the magazine of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit .
