Sickening Gore was a Swiss death metal band from Zurich , which was founded in 1991 under the name Reactor and disbanded around 1993.

history

The band was founded in 1991 under the name Reactor. After the release of a demo and several line-up changes, it renamed itself Sickening Gore in 1992, as there was already a band of the same name from Augsburg . In 1993 the band signed a contract with Massacre Records and consisted of guitarist and singer Matt Burr, guitarist Alex Burr, bassist Danny Büsch and drummer Chris Huwiler. At Christmas time of the same year, the debut album Destructive Reality followed , before the band broke up again.

style

The band played classic Death Metal in the style of bands such as Massacre , Morbid Angel and Grave , with influences from Grindcore being processed. The music is also comparable to that of Cannibal Corpse , but the songs by Sickening Gore have been made more varied. The trade magazine MusikWoche certified that the musicians had “rock-solid” skills, but denied that the “fatiguing permanent club” had higher qualities.
