Sidewalk Prophets
The Sidewalk Prophets are an American alternative rock band from the field of Christian pop music .
Band history
The Sidewalk Prophets were founded in 2003 in Anderson , Indiana by college students Dave Frey and Ben McDonald. The band consists of five musicians in total. In the first year they produced their own independent album entitled Sidewalk Prophets . They released another self-directed EP called You Love Me Anyway before they finally found a label on Word Records . They supported Audio Adrenaline and Jeremy Camp and released their first label album in 2009. With These Simple Truthsthey came to number five on the US Heatseeker charts and had a number three hit on the Christian Songs charts with The Words I Would Say . This earned them the Newcomer Prize at the GMA Dove Awards the following year .
As a result, they had repeated successes in the Christian Songs charts, You Love Me Anyway became a number one hit in these special charts in 2011. The second album Live Like That was completed a year later. The title song reached number two in the Christian Songs and the album came in at number three in the corresponding album charts. It also made it to number 83 in the official album charts . In 2013 the Sidewalk Prophets released a Christmas album. Merry Christmas to You hit the charts again and the song Help Me Find It came in at number three on the Christmas charts .
