The Siebengründer Graben is a ditch that was created in 1903/1904 in the Lower Harz and is now drained. The trench is a section of the Silberhütte artificial trench .
history
The Kochs-Graben was completed in 1724. In the course of the decline of mining in the Straßberger area, the ditch was initially extended into the Neudorf district by a section called Anhaltischer or Langer Ditch . After mining there ended in 1903, the section to Neudorf was closed and the Kochs-Graben was extended for the last time.
With the new section of the Siebengründer Graben , the Siebengrund , catchment area of the Teufelsteich , was connected to the Unterharzer pond and grave system . In addition to the Teufelsteich, the Fürstenteich and the Silberhütter Pochwerksteich were also supplied with water from the Lude and Rödelbach . The total trench was renamed Silberhütter Kunstgraben , although it was no longer an artificial trench , as there were no more arts .
When the Silberhütte in Silberhütte went bankrupt in 1937 , electricity was generated until 1939 and then the ditch drained.
