The Lude is a 7.0 km long brook in the Harz Mountains , the main source brook hydrographically and hydrologically the upper reaches of the Thyra .

course

The Lude rises northwest of Stolberg , about one kilometer west of Breitenstein . Only about 400 meters separate the southern arms of the Katzsohlbach from the sources of the Lude and about 600 meters from the source of the Wahnborn . The Luden digging led 1745-1910 water from the Lude and Narrow Lude in the Lower Harz Pond and grave system where the Ludewasser the Möller pond was dammed. At the foot of Lindischberg ( orographic right ) and Kießlingskopf (orographic left) the cliff water flows into the upper Lude. The Hellbach joins on the right side only 500 meters downstream . Only 500 meters further downstream, the Lude has another tributary on the right. The stream is considerably longer than the Hellbach, has a significantly larger catchment area, its own tributaries and is dammed in the lower reaches. The name of the stream is not known.

The Thyra arises in the old town of Stolberg due to the confluence of the three mountain streams Lude, Kleine Wilde and Große Wilde (in the upper reaches: Schmale Lude ) . This then flows through Stolberg in a southerly direction.
